The Woody Guthrie Center honors the life and legacy of American Folk Musician and singer-songwriter Woody Guthrie. It doesn’t take too long to go through this public museum and archive making it a stop everyone should do. Gilcrease Museum houses the world’s largest collection of art from the American West along with Native American artifacts and artwork. While there, you can also explore the gardens which showcase the style of different time periods. Gilcrease Museum is just fun to see.
Situated on 170 acres, and only 8 miles outside of downtown, Tulsa Botanic Garden has lots to explore. You can walk around the 7 acre lake, hike up the 1 mile nature trail, admire the 350 plant varieties, play in the Children’s Discovery Garden and even take a peek at the Spring Giant, a 15 foot tall carved face.
Standing at 75 foot tall and weighing 43,500 pounds, The Golden Driller is an amazing sight. This statue of an oil worker is the fifth tallest statue in the US. Only a little bit off of Route 66, it is a great stop and will blow you mind.
